In Loving Memory of Barbara Gordon

Barb Gordon passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Jen (Doug) McHugh, Beth (Brent) Bingman, and Kaki (Karl) Scheer; her grandsons, Jack and Sean McHugh, Nate, Will, Josh, and Zach Bingman, Tommy, Anders, and Rowdy Scheer. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rick Gordon; her parents, Bill and Betty Welch; and her sister, Tisha Madden.

Barb’s greatest joy was her family. From childhood, she shared a particularly close bond with her sister, Tisha, and her cousins, Kippy and Bobby, who were among her very best friends. She met Rick during college, and they married in 1967. Together, they built a wonderful life, raising their three daughters and moving across the country along the way. Her daughters knew the depth of her fierce devotion and unconditional love, and her grandsons were her pride and joy. Some of her happiest moments were spent playing “pirate” or cards with her grandsons and cheering them on from the sidelines of all kinds of sports.

A true dreamer at heart, Barb loved art, travel, and adventure. She especially treasured the memories she made while living abroad in Spain. After moving throughout much of her life, she finally found her forever home in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she built lasting friendships through the many activities she enjoyed, including tennis, bridge, canasta, book clubs, and volunteering at museums.

Barb will be deeply missed by everyone fortunate enough to have known and loved her. Yet we can imagine her exactly where she would want to be—somewhere having a big party, surrounded by the friends and family she loved so dearly.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Memorial service will be on December 18, 2026 at 12:30 at Spring Grove Cemetery.
