Frankie W. Bates, Sr

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Franklin (Frankie) Wayne Bates, who passed away on February 5, 2025, at the age of 66. Frankie was born on March 10, 1958, to Alma and Leroy Bates. He was a loving father, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed.

Frankie is survived by his children: Marci (Paul)Bientz , Misti (the late Jamie Smith)Herzner , Julie Bates, Jarod (Julia)Bates, and Sarah Bates. He also leaves behind his brother, Leroy Bates, and his sister, Racquel (Dana)Geisz. Frankie was a proud grandfather, and he is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Frankie Bates II, and his sisters, Connie Tillett, Brenda Burton, and Anita Jones.

Frankie was a lifelong resident of Cincinnati Ohio, his humor and love for his family and friends left a lasting impact on everyone he met.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 15th, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, at Tredway Funeral Home in Norwood, with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery.

Frankie will be forever remembered for his generosity, strength, and devotion to his family. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know and love him.
