Gary Michael "Mike" Kerns Sr.

Gary Michael "Mike" Kerns Sr., devoted husband, father, grandfather, and proud firefighter, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2025. He was deeply loved by his family and all who knew him, and his life was marked by service, strength, and unwavering dedication to others.

Mike was born to John and Anna (Neff) Kerns, and grew up valuing family, hard work, and helping those around him. He carried those values throughout his life and especially into his career as a firefighter—a role in which he served his community with courage and compassion.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kimberly Dawn Kerns, and their children:

• Gary Michael Kerns Jr. & April Kerns

• Johnathan Kerns

• Heather & Michael Haddix

• Alicia & Gus Bolser

• James Kerns

• Matthew & Elizabeth Kerns

Mike is also survived by his sibling, Bob Kerns and his niece, Trista Hail. He was blessed with 14 grandchildren, who were the joy of his later years. He is preceded in death by his wife Kimberly Kerns, his son Christopher Kerns; parents John and Anna (Neff) Kerns; and his siblings, Linda and Jack Hail

Family and friends are invited to honor Mike's life on Thursday, December 4. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, with a funeral ceremony beginning at 1:00 PM.

Mike will be remembered for his big heart, his dedication to protecting others, and the love he had for his family.
