Virginia Stayer Tafel, was born July 11, 1938, in Harrisburg, PA; she passed away on Monday, April 27, 2026, age 87 in Blue Ash, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Frank Irvin Stayer and Jean Elizabeth (Fulton).
Before her retirement, Ginger worked as an Engineer Tech at GE, working on the TF39 jet engine. She then went on to University of Cincinnati in the Computer Programming Group, CBIS, then Convergys as Manager of Data Processing Group. She had a very successful career.
She enjoyed traveling the world, Europe, China, Africa and shared this love of traveling with her grandkids. She worked with each of them to plan their unique trip and experience it with them adding in the different countries culture for the education experience. She also enjoyed hiking, painting, bird watching and gardening, with highlights being her “Sunday School Garden” and butterfly garden. She also enjoyed reading and was known to work the expert level Sudoku.
She is survived by her three loving children, John Barclay Tafel (Jungae Tafel), Gretchen Lee Koning (Bob Koning), Elizabeth Brenneman Rush (Ricky Rush) and eight grandchildren, Ashley Wijeyeratne, Garrett Simard, Lauren Mayo, Austin and Adam Pegouske, Mathew and Trey Rush and Sophia Rush and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Eleanor Stayer Tewalt.
Private celebration of life will be held by her family.
Ginger will be missed by all.
