Betty Ruth Newman

Betty Ruth Newman, of Oakley entered the gates of heaven on Wednesday, July 12th, 2023, at the age of 100. Betty was born on April 10th, 1923, in Metamora, Ohio to the late Chester and May VanBlarcum. In addition to her parents, she is proceeded in death by her husband, Robert Newman and son, Bobby Newman.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Patti Redmond, four grandchildren, Heather (Adam) Dahl, Aireka Newman, Chris (Tristie) Redmond, Alan (Meghan) Redmond, seven great grandchildren, Jacob and Hannah Dahl, Anniston, Cash, Slater, Breccan, and Braxton Redmond, along with many cousins.

Betty was a devoted parishioner of Hyde Park Bethlehem United Methodist Church for many years, along with being an Eastern Star.  She was a retired Cosmetologist and mentor to dozens of children in her neighborhood school district and community.  Betty enjoyed telling her life stories over the last 100 years here on earth. Her sharp memory amazed everyone!  She loves to read devotions and was an avid bird watcher.  Most of all she enjoyed seeing and spending time with her family and friends. Visitation 10: 00 a.m.  Saturday, July 15 at Clepper Funeral Home 2961 Madison Road.  Memorial Service will be scheduled on a later date at the convenience of the family.
