Julie Mavromatis

Julie Mavromatis - August 14, 1962 - December 8, 2020. A celebration of life will take place Thursday December 17, 2020 6:00pm until time of service 7:00pm.

It is with a heavy heart that the family of Julia “Julie” Mavromatis (Merk) announces her passing on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, age 58, from complications of cancer after a 6 year battle with which she remained vigilant in her fight to overcome to the very end. Julie was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on August 14, 1962 to Richard and MaryAnn Merk. Julie had a big heart, she adored animals of all kinds, was always excited to try new things, but loved to spend time and travel with her family the most. She enjoyed sports (Cincinnati Bengals and Reds) arts and crafting and helping others in her spare time. After graduating in 1980 from Oak Hills High School, she went on to spend the next 30+ years as a dedicated employee for both the IRS and the Cincinnati Reds, while raising her 3 children in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard, her mother, MaryAnn, her sisters Margaret and Linda, along with her son, Nathan “Nate” Runyan. She is survived by her daughters, Meagan and Stacy Runyan (Damien Kramer); her 5 grandchildren, Alora, Isabella, Caleb “Tony”, Makayla and Natalya Kramer. She also leaves behind 2 sisters and several loving cousins, nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held from 6:00pm until the time of service at 7:00 pm Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Tredway-Pollitt funeral home, 2131 Cameron Ave, Cincinnati, Ohio 45212.
