Devoted wife of the late Dormas Spaw. Cherished mother of four daughters Vickie (Steve) Barker, Kathy Steger, Karen (Larry) Grootveld and Phyllis (Jack) Bouldin. Beloved grandmother of Michelle Stan, Christine (Josh) Navara, Dustin (Stacy) Steger, Nate Bouldin, Julie Steger (Adam Thomas), Brittany Bouldin (Brode McCrady), Erica Barker, Stephanie Barker, Jacob (Whitney) Grootveld and Sydney (Kyle) Thorson. Beloved great grandmother of Benjamin Stan, Paige Navara, Ethan Navara, Grace Steger, Max Thomas, Dane Thomas, Eli Thomas, Ella Thomas, Sophia Thomas, Luca Arbino, Kason Grootveld, Bennett Grootveld, Vincent Thorson, Lilly Thorson and Zachariah Thorson. Also survived by her brothers Dester and Boyd Wesley. Mathel was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Nellie Wesley and her brothers, Chester and Floyd Wesley. She was a devoted member of Ashland Ave. Baptist Church in Norwood for 65 years. Visitation and funeral service will be held at Ashland Avenue Baptist Church, 4324 Lafayette Ave., Norwood on Saturday, June 26th. Visitation will be held from 10 am – 10:30am with a funeral service at 10:30 am. Private burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Park at a later date. Tredway Funeral Home serving the family.
